Stella Mystica Sabiiti

Stella Mystica Sabiiti is a UN Women Advisor to the African Union’s FemWise-Africa network. She and her family have lived on 3 continents as refugees. She understands intimately how women and children are affected by war and violent conflict. That experience as well as the experience of being abducted and marked to be killed by soldiers in 1976, showed her the need for peace at all levels. She facilitated the 2002 peace process in Uganda and helped implement the African Peace and Security Architecture. A founder of the Center for Conflict Resolution and a seasoned trainer of the next generation of peacekeepers, Stella remains a leading voice in conflict transformation and peacebuilding for the people.
