Lilian Nakigozi is an award winning young leader and social entrepreneur committed to creating opportunities for women and young people across Africa, She is the Founder and Executive Director of WomenGro Initiative, where she has pioneered affordable, climate-resilient vertical farming units designed to grow sustainable crops in small urban spaces. Through this innovation, Lilian works to combat food insecurity and poverty in marginalized communities by providing food security programs, digital literacy and entrepreneurship opportunities for women and youth.
Through WomenGro, she has trained over 15000 women to sustainably feed their families and generate income from fresh produce. The organization also delivers workshops in entrepreneurship, nutrition, climate resilience, composting recycling and women's empowerment.
Lilian is a member of the Climate Bridges. She is a graduate of Obama Foundation Scholars program at Columbia University United States and a graduate of President Obama’s Young African Leadership Initiative. Her work has earned multiple international awards recognizing her impact in advancing zero hunger and sustainable development.
