Oleksandra Matviichuk
Human Rights Lawyer | Head of Centre for Civil Liberties | Nobel Peace Prize Laureate

Oleksandra Matviichuk is a human rights activist and civil society leader based in Ukraine. She heads the non-profit organization Centre for Civil Liberties and is a campaigner for democratic reforms in Ukraine and the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) region.

Matviichuk founded Euromaidan SOS during the 2013 Revolution of Dignity, mobilizing thousands to provide legal aid to persecuted activists. Since 2014, she has worked to expose Russian war crimes in occupied territories and co-launched Tribunal for Putin, documenting international crimes in Ukraine.

Her work has earned global recognition, including the Right Livelihood Award (2022), Sakharov Prize (2022), Global Civic Leadership Award (2024), and Pahl Peace Prize (2024). Named one of Financial Times’ 25 most influential women, she continues to fight for human rights and democratic freedoms in Ukraine and across the OSCE region.
