World Women Summit

Day 4: Live Event

The Parents Circle – Families Forum (PCFF) brings together Palestinian and Israeli bereaved families who have lost a family member to the conflict and have undertaken the joint effort, over the years, during ongoing violence, to transform their loss and pain into a catalyst for Israeli-Palestinian reconciliation and peace. Laila AlSheikh lives in Bethlehem in the West Bank and lost her 6-month old son, Qussay, in 2002. Robi Damelin lost her son, David, in 2002, too. Robi was named a 2015 Woman of Impact by Women in the World and was also selected by the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice as a woman peacemaker. Sami Awad is a visionary peace activist devoted to a “lasting and just peace” in the Holy Land, the area between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. He is an advocate for nonviolent resistance and an inspirational leader working towards a shared future for Palestinians and Israelis.
